I was created as the mascot for "The Fiber Optic Installers' Conference" in 1993 by Michael Hayes for his parent's company, Fotec. This conference became known as "Fiber U" and I helped advertise it for as long as Fiber U ran. I also had my own book, "Lennie Lightwave's Guide To Fiber Optics" which was the most popular book of all times in fiber optics with over 65,000 copies in print! Lennie Lightwave's Guide To Fiber Optics has been upgraded and is now available on the web for free! It also includes a special "virtual hands-on" section on how to install fiber optic connectors.
